  About Lawyer:  Represents clients in legal proceedings and provides legal advice.  Primary Activities 


  A Lawyer in the Legal function is typically expected to perform the following activities as a part of their job. Expect questions delving deeper into these areas depending on your level of experience.   •  Legal Research: Conducting in-depth research on legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law to support legal arguments and provide accurate advice to clients
  •  Drafting Legal Documents: Preparing various legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and briefs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and protect clients' interests
  •  Client Consultation: Meeting with clients to understand their legal needs, providing legal advice, explaining legal options, and guiding them through legal processes
  •  Court Representation: Representing clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and settlement negotiations, presenting arguments, examining witnesses, and advocating for clients' rights
  •  Legal Analysis: Analyzing complex legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case precedents to assess the strengths and weaknesses of legal arguments and develop effective strategies
  •  Negotiation & Settlement: Negotiating with opposing parties, reaching settlements, and drafting settlement agreements to resolve legal disputes outside of court
  •  Legal Advice & Opinion: Providing legal advice and opinions to clients on various matters, including business transactions, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance
  •  Legal Representation: Representing clients in legal proceedings, such as arbitration, mediation, administrative hearings, and regulatory investigations, to protect their rights and interests
  •  Case Management: Managing and organizing legal cases, including maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, coordinating with other legal professionals, and ensuring proper documentation
  •  Continuing Legal Education: Staying updated with changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents through ongoing legal education and professional development to maintain expertise in the field

  Successful candidates for a Lawyers role in the Legal function can expect a similar selection process as the one outlined below. Actual process may vary depending on seniority, size/type of company etc.
